a busy couple of days

I have had such a busy couple of days!

first off, starting mary kay is AWESOME! I got my inventory, and it was like christmas!! Oh gosh. So I have been super busy organizing everything and trying to book parties. On Saturday I went to a conference for Mary Kay at the Hilton Hotel and I learned SO much. I loved it! Not only do they value a good business, but they really value family and happiness and I felt like it was just what I needed to give me the extra bump. My goal is to earn a car by March! That means I need to work super hard. I will need 14 consultants under me. So, let me know if you are interested because I WANT and NEED to hit this goal! :)

On Friday I helped my friend Whitney throw a halloween party at her place. we had tons of good food and fun! I will try to get pics up soon from it.

Saturday after I got home we had two family halloween parties. First we went to my parents in Elk Ridge. This is the first year they have ever had a party! Everyone dressed up and we had good food. My mom made homemade mini pumpkin pies for a pie eating contest! We also did a donut eating contest. They played bowling too with pumpkins and Toilet Paper in the back yard. haha! So fun. Here are some pictures my mom took from the party:

this is the little kids getting ready for the contest. Leah, Geoff, Ella, Sarah, Abby, Jake, Henry, and Lauren

Geoff won, and it was SO funny to watch Ella because she just kept licking it and could not get a bite. I laughed so hard.

the adults contest. Kevin, Brent, Jess, Chelsey, Jen, and Kaitlin. Jen won! Kevin got second. Jen was going at it! Jess kept saying its because shes a good kisser ;)

Haha. I love Kevins costume. He was a detroit gangster. He even used glue dots to put on some rhinestone earrings!

here is my little buddy Sam. This is Adam and Amys little boy. He LOVES when you say 'boo' to his face, he laughs and laughs. He was the cutest little penguin!

Ammon was a guy from the blue man group, and I was a nurse!

This is my dad mixing his famous homemade rootbeer. I LOVE his rootbeer. Its sooo good. The kids loved it too!

Here is the bowling ball Jen made for the bowling game!

I wasnt there for the pumpkin pie contest but I think my brother Adam won. Jess (pictured below) apparently doesnt even like pumpkin pie but did it anyway!

After that, Kev and I went to the Mohlman family party. We had Chili and cornbread for dinner. I took my chili, super YUMMMMMY. I actually had been up since 5 am that morning so I was REALLY Tired and fell asleep on their couch for an hour! woops... They did a costume contest and had some really fun costumes. I dont have pictures of that though because I didnt take a camera and I havent seen any pictures posted yet.

On our way home, Kevin and I went on a free haunted train ride in Lindon that this family does every year. http://www.stringtown.us/. Its so much fun. I was actually scared a few times on the ride! hahaha.

We came home and I ZONKED out. I didnt wake up till noon the next day. woops. I had been so busy all weekend and I was wiped out.

I forgot to mention that friday I went to physical therapy and found out that I have developed posterior pelvic pain. apparently my joints are too loose and my pelvis has expanded too far during this pregnancy, therefore causing major pain in my back. today i couldn't even bend over and i am now limited to picking up anything heavier than 5 pounds or sitting on the ground. ugh. I wasnt sure what he meant when he told me so i looked it up last night- http://www.coreconcepts.com.sg/mcr/posterior-pelvic-pain-sacroiliac-joint-pain-in-pregnant-women/

It sure is SUPER painful and I am having a really hard time getting around BUT it's totally worth it. I cant believe I am 21 weeks pregnant and this little girl will be here in 4 short months! I cant wait. :)

Well, thats all for today! Happy Halloween!!

a day in my interesting life haha

today has been a good day. this is how it went:

got up at 9. got ready for work. checked email.

went to work. did my friend mady's hair. my mom visited me at work to bring me a stethoscope for my halloween costume.

went home. ate lunch with my hubby at 2. (he made steak and potatoes!) kissed my hubby goodbye while he was on his way out for work. took a small nap. cleaned a bit.

took a bath while watching an episode of sister wives. (i know i am weird. weird because i set up the lap top on the toilet to watch an episode while i relaxed in a hot bath and weird because i was watching sister wives.) keep in mind my  bath was like an hour long. that was nice.

ate a snack. visited my new friend heather and borrowed a paid of her scrubs for my costume. visited with her, her cute baby, and her hubs. i love making new friends!

now, im home. about to do some dishes. then, will watch grays anatomy. and eat dinner. but not sure what to eat for dinner...

been a good day..

the rest of the night will prob consist of watching tv episodes, eating, reading, and staying up will midnight when kevin will come home. he will then make me scratch his back before bed. because he always makes me. haha. and then zzzz.... :)

interesting life eh?

not so much. :)

recent pictures

When I was first pregnant I showed REALLY fast. Everyone kept asking me if I was having twins and it seriously made me feel so fat. haha. Now that my body has grown into the belly more and it looks more like a bump and not just fat, I love it! Its so fun. I dont mean to brag but I have only gained 4 pounds and I am 20 1/2 weeks. I feel like I haven't gained it anywhere but my belly either. I am proud of myself for that. Haha! (watch, I am going to blow up my last trimester and get huge). So, this is a picture of me today.

This was when Kevin and I went to kennecot copper with our friends jon and kenna in the summer. jon took the picture. I just got the picture so I thought I would share because Kevin looks SO cute! Gosh my hubs is a hottie!

And, these are the pumpkin pictures I promised I would post after I Got them from Jon. This is the pumpkin Jon and Kenna did. Haha, so awesome!

this is a weird bump picture. that day for some reason I felt like she was sitting super high and I could not breath, and it looks super weird.. haha

kenna bear!

and here is a pic of all of us! such a fun night, thanks jon and kenna!

defeat

I feel so defeated today.

I feel like I am in this emotional rut that I just can't get out of.

Everyone seems to be telling me how I should live my life and what decisions to make {especially to do with the baby} and I just want to be happy.

Everyone seems to think its ok telling me I am too young to have a baby, life is over once you have kids, and that I am not prepared to be a mother. Who are you to judge? Do you really know me?

Why? Why do people tell me those things? Is it because they seriously don't think I will be a good mom, or - because they aren't good themselves?

I have felt nothing but peace, joy, and happiness- heck even ECSTATIC about this baby because this is what I have wanted for sooo long. Somehow Heavenly Father trusts me to be a mother of one of his perfect children. Sure, this pregnancy has been hard. Throwing up every day isn't quite the easiest thing in the world, but at least it re-assures me that there is still a baby there. But the joy I feel when I think about what this baby will look like, or act like, or grow up to be takes over anything hard.

I am the mother of this baby coming. and I decide what's best for her and our family. People don't get to tell me that life is over when kids come. Because to me, it's when a new CHAPTER begins. A continuing part of our life. No one can take that away from me.

I know it's in our human nature to give advice. I do it all the time. We all do it unknowingly. I know everyone means well. So, this is me breathing.... ... ... and letting it go.

i love pumpkins and traditions

our friends jon and kenna invited us for dinner on sunday. we had yummy cafe rio food and some dutch oven cake dessert. It was so good! we even had shirley temples to drink for dinner :) After dinner and visiting for a while, we went to their pumpkin patch (they basically live on a farm) and got some pumpkins. Kenna is the best at carving pumpkins and I am horrible, so I Decided to show her up this year by painting mine. haha... that didn't work. I only had the patience to decorate two of the pumpkins, and keep in mind they were small ones! I ran out of glitter on the glittery one. woops..

I painted this one black and purple, but I still need to put some finishing touches on it. I plan on carving the big one but we shall see..

here's how the porch looks!

kenna ended up carving kermit. KERMIT. it was perfect. haha, she even wrote 'it's not easy being orange' and it turned out really cute. I am waiting on them to email the pictures to me so when they do, I will post.

It's been a tradition every year for us to carve pumpkins with them. This year was the  3rd year, and we hope to keep the tradition alive! We always do some sort of dinner or treat and just have a great time. Here are some of the pictures from past carvings with them:

meal plan for the week

im off to get a few groceries so we dont starve this week. I decided to make a meal plan this time. I hate cooking now because although I am good at it, It's only me at home eating, because Kevin is at work. But at least this gives him left overs for the next day. And yes I realize that I eat chicken almost every day. don't judge. What are you eating this week?

Monday: YOYO (your on your own)

Tuesday: Salsa Chicken
from Chef Mommy
Ingredients:
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup salsa
1 package taco seasoning
1 cup sour cream
Directions:
1.  Mix soup, salsa and taco seasoning in the bottom of your crockpot.  Sink chicken breasts into the mixture, covering completely.  Cook on low for 5 – 6 hours depending on size of chicken breasts.
2.  Remove chicken, shred and return to the crockpot.  Add sour cream and mix well.  Heat until everything is warmed through.  Enjoy!

Wednesday: deep dish mini pizzas
Ingredients:
3-4 whole wheat wraps (try to find ones with at least 3 grams of fiber or more per wrap)
1 (15oz) can pizza sauce (you may have some left over, depending on how much sauce you like)
3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
48 mini turkey pepperonis (or the 12 whole turkey pepperoni’s, each cut into 4 even pieces)
1 tsp basil/oregano mix OR Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic powder
pinch of sweetener, (sugar/stevia/splenda)
pinch of black pepper
*Put your own spin on these by adding anything that you would normally like on a pizza just before popping them in the oven!
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray a 12 count muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray.
2. Start by laying each tortilla out individually on a flat surface, and use an empty can, cup, or cookie cutter to cut 3-4 medium circles out of each wrap. I used the empty pizza sauce can, which worked well!

Thursday
Baked Spaghetti

Friday
Zesty Italian Chicken with Rice

Saturday
Eat out or leftovers

Sunday
Chicken Nuggets, baked potatoes, corn

19 weeks

I am officially 19 weeks along today. I am just about half way there! I seriously can't believe how fast its gone by. Here's a few facts about the pregnancy so far:

-I used to crave chips and salsa till I threw it up. Now I don't eat it much.. other than that craving, I don't really have any.

-I have only gained 4 pounds this entire time. WAHOOO!!!

-I usually throw up once every single day.

-I can't do the dishes till around 3 pm in the afternoon because my gag reflexes are terrible in the morning

-I have felt the baby move, it feels like popcorn popping. I felt the baby move a few weeks ago, but wasnt sure thats what it was until it started happening more often.

-I get the hiccups ALLLLLL the time. I never used to get them before I was pregnant.

-I am always tired. I could nap all day.

-I really thought this baby was going to be a boy, I was happily surprised it was a girl though! Either would have been ok, but now I have my partner in crime.

-I take a hot bath probably every night before bed to help me relax. I found its one of the only things that helps me relax!

-So far, everyone is healthy, me and baby. I got my lab work done and my iron wasn't even low. (and I dont take prenatal's because I throw them up when I do take them! I do take 4 folic acid a day though, and try to take a prenatal whenever I can.)

-I will deliver the baby at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center here in Provo. I get so excited every time I drive by it!

-I have round ligament pain, which is one of the worst things I have ever experienced. good thing its worth it!!!

-I think my doctor is the best doctor in the world. Dr. Dayton from Payson. :)

-My baby bump is big, but adorable. and so far, they say I am measuring right on, just carrying her high which could make it look like shes bigger than she is.

-my feet havent been swollen at all yet. lucky me. I hope it stays that way.

-I can't sit on hard floor anymore. It kills my back and tailbone.

-I keep thinking that the baby's name needs to be Zoe. Kevin likes it ok, but not his favorite. I like other names better but I feel like Zoe should be her name. So it might change, I am sure it will, but for now, I call her Zoe.

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.
Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
See what your baby looks like this week.
Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.
Think you're big now? You'll start growing even faster in the weeks to come. As a result, you may notice some achiness in your lower abdomen or even an occasional brief, stabbing pain on one or both sides — especially when you shift position or at the end of an active day. Most likely, this is round ligament pain. The ligaments that support your uterus are stretching to accommodate its increasing weight. This is nothing to be alarmed about, but call your practitioner if the pain continues even when you're resting or becomes severe.

How your life's changing:

You may be noticing some skin changes, too. Are the palms of your hands red? Nothing to worry about — it's from the extra estrogen. You may also have patches of darkened skin caused by a temporary increase in pigment. When these darker patches appear on your upper lip, cheeks, and forehead, they're called chloasma, or the "mask of pregnancy." You may also notice some darkening of your nipples, freckles, scars, underarms, inner thighs, and vulva. That darkened line running from your belly button to your pubic bone is called the linea nigra, or "dark line."
These darkened spots will probably fade shortly after delivery. In the meantime, protect yourself from the sun, which intensifies the pigment changes. Cover up, wear a brimmed hat, and use sunscreen when you're outdoors. And if you're self-conscious about your "mask," a little concealing makeup can work wonders.

I think that's about it for now. Excited to be 19 weeks. Counting down now! 21 weeks left!

Fall decorations and a new coffee table

I've had lots of projects going on here lately. When Kevin quit CR Doors his co-worker made a coffee table and decided he didn't want it. Kevin decided to take it home and we painted it white, and stained the top part dark. The top part lifts off and has lots of storage inside. It's nice! I LOOOVE it.

I decorated it with my fall button tree I made last year, and other decorations that I got last year as well.

Here's the front table. I still want to stain this table dark to match the top of the coffee table. I made the pumpkin and the halloween frame thing next to it. the rest I bought last year at the dollar store and tai pan.

I got this happy harvest 40% off at hobby lobby this year. I love it!

I bought the pumpkin things at the dollar store. I made the boo blocks, which are only sitting there for a few more days because I am selling them at the salon boutique. If anyone wants them, you better speak up, I am selling them for $10.

I also made these fall blocks, and decided to put them on the kitchen window seal.

in other news, I got another ultra sound today! it's for sure for sure a girl. SOOO happy!!! I really want to name her Zoe. Kev says he likes the name but isn't sure about it yet. We will have to see. She was so active and moving a lot, and stuck her cute little finger out. I had to post this picture. I will post more about the ultrasound and baby stuff on the baby blog. www.letterstobabymo.blogspot.com

Hope you all had a good day!

its birthday time!

today is a great day! there are two special birthdays in our family today, so I better give a shout out.

Gracie, my niece, is 2 today! She loves the color yellow, milk, to say the word baby, she has the biggest smile in the world, she calls my dad 'popie", and she is super loud. haha. she loves to make noise and laugh and giggle.

Happy birthday Gracie Boo!

And of course, can't forget my favorite brother! (haha) Ammon turned 16 today! I cant believe it! I feel so old now.. He is so precious to me and I love him so much.

He loves to dance in his wheel chair. He knows how to groove to any type of music. It's awesome!

He loves pictures. LOVES Them. for christmas two years ago I gave him a framed picture of him and I at my wedding and he smiled so big. He also loves the color orange :)

He is so brave. the bravest person I know. He smiles even through pain.

He gives lots of kisses on the cheek, but always wipes them off when its over. haha.

He LOVES to sing. He listens to music all day after school and memorizes words and loves to sing along. here he is using a remote as a microphone!

He is a die hard BYU fan. He was a thursdays hero for them and he felt so special. He has all the BYU gear and is in heaven when he gets to meet the team.

He loves babies. SOOO much. I think its because they are so peaceful and don't mess with his wheelchair. hahahaha.

I just cant believe how much he has grown up. He is my best buddy and I love him more than words can say. I hope he has the best birthday ever.

payson canyon picnic

On saturday, I begged Kevin to take me up Payson Canyon to see the colors. He really didn't want to drive that far, but since I begged, he gave in. :) We packed a picnic and went inbetween conference sessions.

After going up far, we decided to come back down and find a place to eat our lunch. I love this little area and wanted to eat here.

we parked and took a little walk to be a little more by ourselves inside all the trees. I love the spot we picked.
don't mind my crazy husband who wont ever smile for any pictures. such a butt head

seriously. this was after me begging him to smile. such a nerd

i had to get a prego belly pic too.. :)

here is the lunch we packed. sandwiches, watermelon, carrots, granola bars, pringles, hostess cupcakes, drinks and it was yummy!

I was clearly excited about these cupcakes, and kevin wanted to ruin the picture. boo

We had a lot of fun spending the afternoon together! I decided not to work on saturdays anymore so Kevin and I can have some time together. It's the only day we have together and I just don't want to give that up. I'm lucky to have such a great hubby... i love him!

*also, I posted a little baby update on the baby blog: http://letterstobabymo.blogspot.com/2011/10/17-weeks-and-growing.html
